Hzandbits – Sound Effects Vibration:
This is a set of sounds that rattle vibrate, clatter, vibrate and oscillate. Think massive cargo vessels, passenger ferries, or mechanical systems that have loose metal panels Resonating generators, and the like. The vibration was created using a 100-watt tactile transducer (like an acoustic bass speaker but without a cone) connected to an amplifier and receiving its signal from an electronic modular synth. Frequency from VCO's and LFO's were mixed to create fascinating vibrations both in the sub-audio and the audio range.
Hand-holding the transducer enabled me to move it around to find the most pleasing spots on different things (a stainless steel file cabinet suitcase made of steel and spring reverb tanks come to my mind). Based on the intensity that the source signal various sounds would be produced from identical waveforms. Sometimes the transducer would be too hot at least certain occasions the thermo-relay of the amp would activate. It was a great time in the studio!
