The Customisable Female Basemesh is an innovative feature that removes extensive modeling from the character design workflow. This product works best for artists wanting to jump straight to character design because it comes with a fully rigged model made with Rigify, allowing for animated control through simple, automated systems.
The UV unwrapped basemesh is ready for texturing immediately. It is designed to be versatile, and its topology makes it suitable for many different use cases, including sculpting, where it can be easily subdivided and refined in detail. With two custom menus provided, users can adjust face and body features with slider controls, while some predefined facial options allow for rapid customization and blending. Requiring some background in Blender’s rigging system, the more advanced users will be able to make the best use of this basemesh as it is not designed for beginners.
As a reminder, this is a Blender file, not an addon, and is only usable from version 4.1 and above. While users with Blender 4.0 can open the file, they will have to deal with some visibility issues relating to bone collections due to the Rig Layers menu. Users will be warned about a Python script upon opening the file; this is safely skippable as Rigify will load the menus and features after executing the script.
