Dear Dolores is derived taken from the Latin word dolor which means sadness or sorrow. When I began working with this font for display,, tried it out with the Latin requiem text. The capitals seemed to fit well with the huge and solemn mourning words. The broken hairlines reminded me of stones whose intricate details had been lost and destroyed in time. It felt right at home in a churchyard or in a memorial park.

Lowercase letters provided the font with a more familiar and friendly look and also opened up many possibilities for use. The name itself is a fictional tribute to someone you've missed for a long time or maybe lost too quickly.
