We've all heard about how jet flybys sound because we hear them constantly over us from passenger aircraft. If you're living in an area where fighter planes are practicing testing flights, then you've heard the low-flying sound of jet engines. We made it even more clear by introducing our Micro BOOM SFX library JET FLY BYS.

WHAT We recorded

The recordings were made by F18 Hornet jets of the United States Navy that were very low over our microphones. We broadcast the sounds of these jets flying in three different distances (close medium, distant) as well as three different microphone configurations (MS, XY, and HH = Hammerhead, which is a unique configuration that our sound engineers invented and is the perfect setup for these recordings). Medium and close have different versions that contain the standard jet engine sound.

What's special about This book?

These sounds are ideal for obvious reasons such as jet flybys, but with a bit of processing, they can also be useful in other situations like whooshes, rockets, and others.
