Creating A Single Panel Cartoon: Welcome to the wild universe of drawing! This class focuses on creating an illustration that is a single panel from concept to illustration.
In this class, you will be learning:
- Develop a general concept for your single-panel cartoon. It's like a cat floating in space.
- You are making a recurring character sheet to create a single-panel cartoon. As the cat that is in space... have you already heard that.
- Select a background for your animation and choose the history and background of your recurring characters.
- The basics of understanding perspectives. Atmospheric/Linear perspective.
- You are trying to come up with your first cartoon idea.
- Create layouts based on your initial comic concept.
- I sketched out a layout, finalized it, and refined it.
- I am sketching to perfection.
- Inking coloring.
- Basics of choosing the right colors.
- Add brightness and contrast to your drawing.
- You are typing in captions or dialogue into your cartoon.
This type of class can contain the following:
An introduction, a planned video, and ten lessons on making a single-panel cartoon. The focus will be on defining the idea behind the single-panel cartoon and defining what a single-panel cartoon is. Finally, we will walk through the process of making recurring characters, settings the character's traits, setting and the process of sketches, drawing, inking shading, adding depth, lettering, and finalizing the single-panel cartoon.
Who do you think this class is for?
- Cartoonists from all ages and levels. This class is intended to be an introduction to the art of drawing. Most of the class encourages students, regardless of their ability, to create their first cartoon or revisit the art of cartooning.
- People who wish to view things in a new way. One of the most significant aspects of cartooning is that it allows you to view the world in its absurdity and enjoy it. This is a beautiful talent and helps you not be a slave to yourself and, often, the world around you too seriously.
What do you require to finish the course?
- Drawing material as well as something you can draw with. You must have pencils or be able to draw digitally on layers and start by roughing in specific areas. It would be best to use a pen or something permanent for ink. However, you can use whatever you have in your hand. This class is intended to inspire you to draw and not wait until you can purchase specific supplies.
- For sketching: I'd suggest pencils or any other lightweight medium to draw things.
- Ink for inking or brushes.
- You can utilize markers, pencils, markers, and watercolor for tone and colors. You can also opt for digital.
- For shading...pencils, pens, markers, paints, or go digital.
- Paper I would recommend everything from notebook papers to sketchbook bound.
