Cataloging and Asset Organization
Project Manager has two primary tabs: Explorer, which allows managing models, materials, and other assets, as well as Asset Files, which helps to manage links that are used in the scene currently being edited.
The Explorer tab is split into four distinct tabs. Within those tabs, the users can arrange and organize the following categories of assets: Materials, 3D Models, Textures, and IES Photometric Files.
This feature is unique and allows users to gain the ability to access external files directly through 3ds Max. To make organizing many external folders in Project Manager easier, you can create virtual Catalogs and add directories on your computer.
Catalogs are created to aid in organizing your files and allow users easy access to lists of folders external to your computer. Catalogs are virtual and, therefore, do not impact or duplicate the folders on your hard drive.
Categories
The four tabs (3D Materials, Models, Textures, IES Photometric Files) include categories. Categories section (formerly named Favorites).
Categories are a different way of facilitating access to often frequented 3D Files and Materials and searching and filtering quickly for particular assets within them.
The plugin's distinctive and easy-to-use search feature lets users search for assets by name, description, and category. Description can be added in 3D Max file formats, IES photometric files, Materials, and images.
The project Manager helps manage massive and complex 3D projects and fast.
The most complex and large scenes become easier to access and manage and more easily navigate. The plugin also allows active synchronization of folder trees while working in group mode.
ADDING ASSETS TO A SCENE
3D Models
Project Manager provides users with a helpful feature that allows you to merge 3D Models into Proxies or XRef objects/scenes, Sini Proxies, or as everyday objects or meshed directly into the viewport. The plugin is compatible with various Proxy types like VRay Corona, Fstorm, Octane, Maxwell, Arnold, Redshift, Final Render, Sini, etc.
3D objects can be inserted within the viewer conventionally, either on the grid or directly painted on the surface of the scene object.
Merge and import functions support 3D model formats, including 3ds Max files GrowFX, BIP Motion, Archvision RPC, DWG, SketchUp, and Revit. Select the asset you wish to import from the list and include it in your scene.
In the same way, Materials, Textures, and IES lighting can be built directly by the Project Manager by dropping them into objects, the material editor, or in the viewport.
Materials & Textures
Project Manager is an excellent tool for managing existing libraries of materials or building new ones.
Furthermore, Project Manager allows users to create materials by dragging one or a few bitmaps onto a 3D model inside the viewport or into either the Standard or Slate Material Editor.
Users can quickly create PBR materials in addition to intricate and beautiful textures and materials simply by moving bitmaps or Substance textures out of Project Manager into the scene. VRscan materials can also be used.
IES Photometric
Project Managers can also be used to create IES photometric lights designed to create realistic lighting. They also work with active render engines.
Newly developed light utilizes some of the parameters in the original IES file Light multiplier (in lumens) and the shape of the light and size.
In addition, IES file formats are displayed with an interactive interface, making them considerably more user-friendly.
Select to drag and drop the IES in the viewing window for creating an image-based light, where your lamp geometry is located used to replace.
Aside from that, it is possible to utilize Project Manager to replace, export, and render previews of 3D objects and material.
Then, the Project Manager supports embedded previews of 3ds Max files GrowFX, BIP motion, Archvision RPC, DWG, SketchUp, Revit, and many more.
The interactive Rendering of the previews in Materials, IES files, BVH Motion FBX, OBJ, 3DS, and many more formats is also supported.
ASSET TRACKING SYSTEM
Using Project Manager, you'll have complete control over external links in your scenes.
Asset tracking tools include support for XREF files and easy linking to external files.
You can find missing assets and Relink external files using the Asset Files tab (and Batch Render & Relink).
The project Manager streamlines and simplifies managing and editing assets in the scene. For instance, finding specific assets using filters such as name, type of asset, or file status is much simpler, and it is also possible to search for specific objects.
The tool can also display interactively the assets linked to the objects selected.
Additionally, the plugin simplifies editing bitmaps of scenes, as they can be easily found and inserted into the Material Editor with a single click.
Image resize tools are also available.
Additionally, the capability to save scenes for backup purposes or for later use for rendering farm services like RebusFarm makes Project Manager one of a type.
